The second day on site went well, with great progress made in uncovering the north-east corner. We are now pretty sure that the medieval walls cover the forum walls, thus indicating that the structure was ruined at the time. We have had some set-backs however, as the total station cable and batteries are lost, and replacements will be very expensive. Hopefully will be able to attract support to pay that bill before the end of the campaign.

The paving area is again proving to be the most exciting part of the forum. Axel is busy flipping the surviving slabs over, and has been able to identify a number of re-used pieces, with some architectural fragments having been re-used twice.

Slowly we are beginning to piece together the jigsaw from these pieces to identify what buildings from which all of these fragments have come.
